The above picture depicts the plight of Alhaji Musa Muhammad Yusuf, the Assistant Administrative Secretary of the Islamic Education Trust Lagos State and a dedicated Islamic da’wah worker.
Last Friday, 29th Shawwal, 1444 (19th May 2023), he boarded a commercial vehicle to return to his Ikorodu home after closing at work only for a fire to break out inside the vehicle, reportedly from an insane act by someone carrying petrol carelessly in the vehicle.
As can be seen from the photographs, he has suffered very serious burns to his face, both hands and both legs. His condition worsened because he could not receive immediate medical attention most crucial in such cases from the special burn unit in the local hospital due to a strike by medical doctors. It was only when the strike was ended that he could get proper attention.
A current estimate of the projected financial costs of his specialist treatment, rehabilitation and dependents support for the next three (3) months is 20 million naira. Alhaji Musa is married with four children. He also takes care of his aged mother and three other dependants.
We would therefore like to urgently solicit for your generous donations as well as your dua’s for his speedy and complete recovery. For as the Prophet (SAW) is reported to have said “whoever relieves a believer of distress in this world, Allah will relieve him of some of the distress of the Day of Judgement. Whoever makes things easy for those who are in difficulty, Allah will make things easy for him in this world and the next….’’.
