Islamic Education Trust, Lagos State Branch, organizes a Remedial Programme to prepare Muslim students intensively for the Senior Secondary School External Examinations, namely WAEC, NECO, GCE and JAMB, to ensure better University and other Tertiary Institutions Admissions levels for Muslim pupils.
Presently we have four locations:
- Lagos Central Mosque
- Ansar -ud-deen Central Mosque, Ebute Metta
- Ansar-ud-deen Grammar School, Surulere
- Nims Nursery/Primary School, Ajao Estate, Oshodi
These locations provide venues for the classes which hold in the evenings of the normal school hours. The programme has been a huge success, Alhamdulilah.
In the last Universities admission exercise, out of 267 students presented, 218 have received admission offers. When it is remembered that a vast number of the youngsters involved would have been otherwise idling about, vulnerable to predation by the many anti-social elements looming large in the modern day Lagosian society, the success rate of over 82% is all the more remarkable. The current student enrolment is 395 and this is hardly scratching the surface.
There is a huge urgent need to expand the programme to at least 10 locations in Lagos State. The average cost of the programmes per student is now about N12,000.
